Through July 4th, we will continue our "America 250" 60 days of powerful moments in history, brought to life through (graphic) vignettes that reveal the people, ideas, and turning points that shaped who we are as a nation.

THURSDAY, July 2:

America 250 - Evolution of Civil Rights

A 250-year look at America through the lens of Black civil rights, from the country’s founding promise of equality to the generations who fought to make that promise real. The story explores the progress made, the barriers that remain, and how the fight for civil rights continues to shape America today.

FRIDAY, July 3:

America 250 - Naturalized Citizens

As America marks its 250th anniversary, one of the country’s most powerful promises is still unfolding in real time: the promise of citizenship. ABC’s Alex Stone reports on the pride new Americans are feeling after they take the oath of citizenship, officially joining the nation at a historic moment.

TUESDAY, July 7: 

Buy Now, Pay Later Craze 

Buy now, pay later is changing the way Americans shop. What started as a way to split up big purchases is now helping some consumers cover everyday needs. With prices still stretching household budgets, why are more shoppers turning to installment payments and what is behind the craze.

A car can turn deadly in minutes. As temperatures climb, so does the danger for children left behind or trapped inside. The simple mistake that can become fatal and the steps every parent and caregiver needs to know before the next heat wave. ​​​​

Agro-tourism: Family farm adds attractions to survive 

For more than 200 years, this land sustained one family. Now, the fight is to keep the farm itself alive. Hellerick’s Adventure Farm is turning to goat yoga, climbing walls and hands-on classes as farmers across the country face a changing economy. Why the future of family farms depend on becoming much more than a farm. It's one example of how farmers are sustaining their businesses in today's economy.

FIFA World Cup Impact on America (Final is July 19th) 

As the World Cup ends. This tournament has already become bigger than the game. 

For one month, the world came to North America, bringing flags, languages, families and pride to stadiums, streets and watch parties across the country. What did America learn about itself when the world showed up? 

SUNDAY, July 19:

The world cup final is almost here. After a month of matches across North America, one team will soon be crowned champion. NewsOne will offer coverage of the final whistle, the celebration, and the moment the world cup comes to a close.

Elderly IRS Scams

Fraud targeting the elderly is on the rise, according to the criminal investigative arm of the IRS. In the last two years the IRS Criminal Investigators have seen an "increase in fraudulent activity targeting the elderly," according to a release from the agency.  

THURSDAY, July 30: 

Back To School Shopping

Believe it or not, it’s time to start thinking about Back-to-School shopping. No matter your kids’ age or how well they care for their gear, they always need more for the coming school year. We'll have money-saving tips for parents.
