All stories will be available for early morning newscasts on the dates listed, unless otherwise noted.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 30: 

SNAP BENEFITS 

A lot of smaller stores are no longer taking EBT until further notice. One of the biggest impacts of the government shutdown is about to hit tens of millions of the poorest Americans hard: the halting of a critical food assistance program. Several states are now warning they will be forced to suspend Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits come Nov. 1 if the shutdown continues. SNAP, often referred to as "food stamps," serves roughly 42 million low-income Americans. The program, run by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service, issues electronic benefits that can be used like cash to purchase food.

 

 

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 31: 

YOUR VOICE YOUR VOTE 2025: THE LOCAL VOTE WITH NATIONAL STAKES

On November 4th, 25 cities and several states will be electing either a mayor and/or a governor. We will examine how national issues are influencing local elections like crime reduction, and economic polices, etc. We'll have insight from ABC News Political Director Averi Harper.

GMA 50th ANNIVERSARY

Good Morning America will turn 50 years old with a special celebration episode. NewsOne will cover the morning's events and provide a wrap pkg for later that day.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5: 

APPLYING FOR HOPE

Across the country, millions of Americans are still searching for work even as employers report record numbers of job openings. For many, the hunt has turned into heartbreak. They have applied for hundreds of positions, updated resumes, and completed interview after interview, yet the offers never come. Experts say a mix of rising automation, changing job requirements, and the lingering effects of the pandemic has left some qualified workers locked out of the market. For those still waiting for a yes, the toll is more than financial. It is emotional, and it is reshaping what it means to work, to hope, and to belong.

 

 

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7: 

PROTEIN OBSESSION

High protein diets are trending and big-name restaurants and food companies are all introducing high-protein items. From the grocery store to Starbucks, it seems like protein products are everywhere these days. Are these food and drinks actually good for you? How much protein should we be having? We take a look at the trend and its potential benefits and drawbacks.

 

 

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10:

WAITING FOR A KIDNEY 

Former Jets player Nick Mangold passed away after making a heartfelt plea to fans in search of a kidney transplant. While his platform gives him national visibility, countless others face the same urgent need without that reach, including families and individuals waiting, worrying, and hoping for a match that may never come.

 

 

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11:

THE VETERAN BENEFITS GAP

On a day we honor our military veterans, many of them are facing delays or challenges in receiving education, disability, or retirement benefits. Veterans and their families depend on these earned benefits. We take a look at the real impact these obstacles are having on America's vets.

THANKSGIVING DAY DINNER COSTS

Soon Americans across the country will be gathering with family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner. With prices continuing to rise, we’ll look at what that big meal will cost you this year and share some expert tips on ways to save.

THANKSGIVING TRAVEL HOLIDAY FORECAST 

It’s no secret that Thanksgiving is one of the busiest times of the year for drivers. We will look at the forecast for traffic, the outlook for gas prices, and some tips to make the drive a little easier. â€‹â€‹

BLACK FRIDAY- DISCOUNT DANGERS 

Black Friday is built around discounts. Why do discounts make consumers spend at a time when the economy is not at its best? Economists say it comes down to psychology, marketing and social factors.
